Much of Jay’s work responds to current sustainability challenges, including developing sustainability indicators, benchmarking/target setting systems, strategic decision-making tools, and communicating sustainability performance. He also has experience in regulatory planning and a knowledge of regional policy issues.
Jay has whakapapa ties to Ngāti Māmoe and Ngāi Tahu and is involved in several projects to improve Māori economic wellbeing. He holds a PhD in Economics, a Master of Environmental Policy with First Class Honours, and a Bachelor of Resource Studies.
