Review of Australian Dairy company supplier relationships and attitudes

Context

Burra Foods Pty Ltd, Victoria, Australia is a dairy ingredient processing company sourcing high quality fresh milk from a small farmer supply base, primarily in south-east Victoria.

The client as part of a review of supply chain relationships wanted to seek ways to strengthen supplier relationships and supplier profitability, including a better understanding of key farm system drivers that influence farmer needs when selecting dairy company payment system options.


Description of the project

Design, implement attitudinal questionnaire and face-to-face interviews, combining qualitative and quantitative aspects of supplier motivations and intentions

The survey was stratified across the supply base; and included behaviour drivers relating to productivity, profitability, risk management, market & partner communication.

Make recommendations made to Burra  via discussion with management team and written report.
